Formerly known as Crockett-Deane Ballet, Sac Civic Ballet was founded in 1996 by Directors Don & Allyson Schwennesen as an extension of the Deane Dance Center to give its beautiful young dancers more performing opportunities.
WHERE PASSION MEETS PERFORMANCE Performance is at the heart of what we do. Our dancers take the stage in two full-length ballets annually, an all-school spring showcase, and summer workshops featuring guest artists. From magical story ballets to contemporary works, every performance is a chance to grow in artistry, confidence, and community. Company members receive even more in-depth training with dedicated company classes and rehearsals, performance opportunities, and leadership roles in productions—preparing them not just for the stage, but for life. This includes attending and performing at RDA Pacific Ballet Festivals in front of well known ballet professionals where our dancers regularly receive scholarships, access to RDA Scholarships, and community performances such as Race for the Arts and Arts in River Park.
